Happy New Year!

…and all the best for your songwriting in 2017 ☺

2016 was another busy year for London Songwriters and our regular members achieved success in terms of radio play, inclusion on high profile compilations, completing their own EPs, being inspired to write their first songs or writing more and more accomplished ones as a result of the London Songwriters experience – check the positive testimonial comments after each event and in the group reviews.

We ran 3 highly successful and affordable Countryside Retreats. 72 writers in total over two years have rated the experience 5 out of 5 and the chance to immerse ourselves for a week with the beautiful surroundings and accommodation for inspiration is an invaluable opportunity – why not put some Spring into your Songwriting and register for our Spring 2017 Peak District Retreat?

London Songwriters Spring Retreat 2017

The more songs we write the better we get and so the monthly collaboration workshops provide an appointment to practise our craft, avoid procrastination, network and pitch for genuine commercial briefs – Sunday 8th January is the date for our New Year 2017 Workshop

You may have heard the phrase ‘great songs are rewritten rather than written’ and so the first drafts from the workshops are often further refined and then fully produced – here is a Showcase Video from the meetups to illustrate.

Our monthly Song Critique workshops also provide an opportunity to pool constructive opinions on your songs, perhaps before you gig them or commit to the expense of recording. Our industry guest sessions are also ever popular.

The two concerts we organised for the homeless charity Crisis At Christmas attracted media attention and you can view the resulting London Live TV interview

Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you in 2017 – passion, practice and persistance are your watchwords, despite occasional setbacks, and writing great songs is a prerequisite – there are plenty of opportunities in the current music scene and doing the songwriting groundwork regularly with our workshops means that you will be ready when they present themselves ☺

If you have any suggestions or requests for meetups do please get in touch or fill in our Member Survey.
