Happy New Year 2019

Happy New Year! and wishing you all the very best for your songwriting in 2019, which also marks London Songwriters’ Tenth Anniversary! ☺

2018 was another busy year with regular Lyric and Melody Writing Presentations, week-long Countryside Retreats, Film & TV Writing Workshops, Song Critique sessions and our Charity Concerts for Crisis At Christmas.

Thanks to all who took part in the latter and to those who sponsored us – we raised a significant amount of money from some generous direct donations and downloads of our charity single.

Here are some upcoming events to supercharge your songwriting for 2019:

Our first event of the New Year is a Song Critique Session at the King & Queen pub in Fitzrovia on Saturday 12th January – bring your songs at any stage of development for an in-depth look at the Lyrics, Structure, Melody and Harmony and in the same room where Bob Dylan played his very first London gig!

January is lyric writing month – we will be running three, weekly, standalone, interactive presentations on a Tuesday evening, primarily aimed at beginner and intermediate writers. These will help you clarify how you can plan ideas and develop processes to perfect lyrics that work to their full potential.

The first of these sessions Lyric Writing: Generating Ideas, Structure and…The BIG Idea! is at 6pm on Tuesday January 15th at WeWork, South Bank. These sessions will delve deeply into essential topics, including Structure, Imagery, Metaphor, Rhyme, Singability, Meter and much more,

Each standalone presentation is discounted by 25% – or save a further 10% if you book the whole Lyric Writing: The Essential Guide! – 3-week course for only £40 to get the maximum benefit and never be short of lyric development ideas again! There are only 12 places each week, bookable in advance.

Finally, you can Spring into your Songwriting and sign up for a 10% discount on our next week-long Peak District Countryside Retreat, which takes place during the first week of April. Over half the places are now taken – follow the links for full details and testimonials.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you in 2019!
